The Scottish Music Centre are looking for a Membership Officer to join their Glasgow team.This position offers an opportunity to engage with musicians, support membership growth, and contribute actively to the vibrant Scottish music scene.
As a Membership Officer, you will be at the forefront of member engagement, coordinating events, assisting in fundraising, and handling general office administration. The role ensures the growth and vitality of their member base and deepens relationships within the music sector.
Role Responsibilities
- Managing relationships with current members and recruiting new ones through sector collaboration.
- Assisting the general manager in membership duties such as invoicing, royalties, and donations.
- Coordinating member events like performances, and handling tech preparations.
- Promoting member concerts on social media and attending select concerts.
Contributing to fundraising projects and handling monthly newsletters and web content updates.
General Office Admin Duties
- Handling inquiries from the music sector and public.
- Promoting Scottish music at various events and meetings.
- Evaluating funding applications for the YMI Continuing Professional Development Fund.
Essential Requirements
- Knowledge of the music sector in Scotland.
- Prior customer-facing roles experience.
- Organisational skills, multitasking abilities, and efficient time management.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Problem-solving aptitude and initiative.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Zoom.
Desired Requirements
- Experience in a membership organisation.
- Music reading ability.
- Familiarity with platforms like Squarespace.
- Fundraising experience in the arts sector.
- Proficiency in social media.
