Folk Alliance International invites artists to apply for a coveted spot in the Official Showcase of their 2024 Conference. The Conference is the world’s largest congregation of the folk music industry, representing an array of genres, from Appalachian to Zydeco, Americana, Blues, Celtic, Bluegrass, Hip-Hop, Singer-Songwriter and beyond.
To be held at the Westin Crown Center Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri, USA, from February 21-25, 2024, this event offers a prominent platform for artists to display their talents.
Application requirements:
- Credit card for the application fee
- Contact information for the artist and all representation
- 50-word bio (3rd-person)
- Two different artist/band headshot photos (300dpi, color)
- Link to 1-2 audio files (note: the jury cannot review downloads, Dropbox or Google Drive files)
- Link to 1 video of a live performance of the proposed showcase format
- Links to the most recent highest-profile media reviews
- The most significant nominations or awards the artist has won
- Names/roles of all band members
- Stage plot (.pdf)
Folk Alliance International encourages applicants from across the globe, irrespective of genre or stage of career. While previous experience can enhance an application, a passion for folk music and a commitment to the industry are the primary criteria.

Application Submission Deadline: 11pm Tuesday 25th July [UK Time]
Artists will be selected through a comprehensive application process:
- June 1, 2023: Official Showcase applications open
- June 22, 2023: Last day of early bird pricing
- July 24, 2023: Purchase of Official Showcase applications close at 5:00 PM CT (application must be submitted by 5:00 pm on July 25, 2023)
- August 30, 2023: Official Showcase artists notified
