Opportunity: Music Department Manager – St Mary’s Music School, Edinburgh

St Mary’s Music School is seeking to appoint a Music Department Manager, supporting their Director of Music and senior instrumental staff with all aspects of management of the music department.

This is a full-time, permanent post, working 35 hours per week over the full year.

The post would suit a highly organised administrator, with a knowledge of, and an interest in, classical and other music genres.

A flexible and positive attitude to work is important, with a calm and approachable demeanour. The post-holder should be able to work independently and as part of a small team. This is an exciting time in the school’s history and the post will offer diverse and interesting work for the successful candidate.

The Music Department Manager will report to the Director of Music and work closely with the Assistant Head of Music/Head of Keyboard, Head of Strings and other senior music staff.

Duties will include:

– Assisting the Director of Music with department administration;
– Administration and arrangments for exams, internal competiions and music assessments;
– Arrangements for concerts, masterclasses, and other events;
– Assisting with arrangements for Sumemr Schools, workshops and youth orchestras.
