Dumfries Music Collective (DMC) is calling for applications to join its newly formed Advisory Committee. Since its founding in 2012, DMC has grown from an annual event into a year-long program significantly contributing to the music scene in Dumfries and Galloway.
While prior experience in the music and creative industries is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite. DMC is also interested in candidates who possess familiarity with Scotland’s cultural sector and a passion for making a positive contribution to the cultural landscape of Dumfries and Galloway.
As a part of this dynamic committee, you will have the chance to:
- Join twice-yearly meetings to review DMC’s activities and strategies.
- Influence DMC’s future direction.
- Contribute to the growth of the local music scene.
- Collaborate in the design and execution of yearly events.
- Support emerging musicians and creatives.
- Use music to inspire and educate individuals and communities.
DMC encourages applicants from diverse backgrounds across Scotland, especially those aged 14-25. Although music or creative industry experience is beneficial, it’s not required. The passion for positively shaping the local music industry is the primary criteria.
Six members will be chosen for a two-year term. While the roles are voluntary and unpaid, DMC will cover any travel or incurred expenses.
The deadline for application: Friday, 21st July, 9AM.
First Advisory Committee Meeting: Wednesday, 2nd August.
