OPPORTUNITY: GLOSS FREE ELECTRONIC MUSIC WORKSHOP

The Glasgow Library of Synthesized Sound (GLOSS) invites you to join their free electronic music workshops starting January 2024 in Glasgow. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced musician, these workshops are a fantastic way to immerse yourself in the diverse world of electronic music.

 

What’s on Offer:

  • Two levels of workshops tailored to your experience.
  • Free access to Ableton Live software and studio time at La Chunky Studios.
  • A comprehensive six-week Introduction to Electronic Music (ITEM) program.
  • Guidance from industry experts including Lewis Cook (Free Love), Ray Aggs (R.Aggs, Sacred Paws, Trash Kit), Rickie McNeill (Cru Servers, Fox Gut Daata), Suzi Cook (Free Love), and guest workshop leaders.

 

Genre Exploration:

  • Dive into various electronic music genres including dub, synthpop, techno, and more.
  • Learn about electronic music history and contributions from diverse communities.
  • Explore techniques in synthesis, sampling, sequencing, and live performance.

 

Who Can Apply:

  • Open to all enthusiasts of electronic music, with no restrictions on experience level.
  • Applicants must be 18+ and based in Scotland.

 

Workshop Details:

  • ITEM Level I: Ideal for beginners to intermediates.
  • ITEM Level II: Designed for experienced musicians with a focus on collaboration and advanced techniques.
  • Workshops run in the evenings, 6 pm-9 pm, at La Chunky Studios in Glasgow.
