Solas Festival is searching for a dedicated Festival Director to oversee and curate the upcoming Solas Festival 2024. The selected individual will work closely with the Board of Trustees and the freelance team to bring forth an innovative and high-quality festival experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Curate a festival programme aligning with the festival’s ethos.
- Lead the Solas Festival 2024 freelance team, focusing primarily on the artistic programme.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including Board members, guest curators, volunteers, artists, agents, managers, funders, contractors, and media.
- Essential Skills & Experience:
- Collaborative approach and adeptness in working within a small dedicated team.
- Passion for the arts, an understanding of the creative process, and a broad appreciation of the festival’s programme.
- 5+ years of expertise in programming for arts events or festivals.
- Demonstrable experience in leading successful project teams.
- Strong organisational, planning, and time management skills.
- Proven expertise in budget management and IT proficiency, especially Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Outstanding communication skills and a commitment to Equalities, Diversity, and Inclusion.
Desirable Attributes
- Familiarity with regional and cultural networks.
- Prior experience in arts fundraising and knowledge of arts marketing campaigns.
