Hours: Participants are expected to work five hours per week. Days and times are flexible.
Location: Participants will be expected to work from DMC’s office in Dumfries town centre. Home working will be supported depending on the COVID regulations of the time.

DMC seeks five motivated, forward thinking young people (aged 18-25) to join the Platform project team in programming and delivering exciting, engaging music related activity which will form part of both DMC’s annual programme and the organisation’s flagship event “Dumfries Music Conference”. Alongside the role, successful applicants will be supported in developing an individual growth and experience path, and an industry-relevant portfolio. The five roles run from July 2021 to October 2022.
Successful applicants will form a small project team who will work to DMC management team briefs throughout the year. The project team will be tasked with designing and delivering events and initiatives in line with DMC’s typical programme outputs – radio shows, pop-up gigs, workshops, seminars, Q&As and panel discussions. The team are expected to research, programme, and deliver it’s own events/programme items with the support of experienced members of the DMC management team.
Alongside the week-to-week work, all five applicants will receive regular developmental support and guidance on building and sustaining a career in music which includes sessions on specific practical skills, setting up and working as a freelancer, showcasing and marketing your own work, managing budgets, working confidently as part of a team, pitching for projects and a look at various industry standards. Applicants will gain valuable experience in working for a music organisation, and will be able to use this to build their own portfolio, or strengthen their existing CV.
Interviews will take place between 26th July and 30th July. Start Date: 2nd August 2021
