Job opportunity: Lecturer in Music with the University of Aberdeen

Aberdeen University are currently seeking a Music Lecturer to join the team.

Although this role is centred on performance within the department, many performing activities involve the wider university community and civic community. You will also be involved with the establishment of the new King’s Pavilion Performance Centre, currently under development in the heart of the Old Aberdeen campus.

You will have an established reputation as a performing musician (any style/genre). You will be an established researcher with outputs in musical performance or a closely related field. You will have significant links with the professional performance sector. You will be an experienced teacher in Higher Education, with a commitment to equality and diversity. In particular, you will be open to teaching musical performance across a range of styles and genres to support the needs of students. You will have a PhD in an area of Music relevant to the requirements of the post, and/or substantial equivalent professional experience. You will have native or near-native competency in English language, excellent written and spoken communication skills, and be able to engage with students and promote student learning in a range of ways.

Salary: £42,149 – £50,296
