The Scottish Government have published updated guidance following the First Minister’s announcement of Scotland’s new five tier Strategic Framework which indicates different levels of protection that might be needed based on different levels of transmission for the virus.
The Performing Arts and Venues guidance has been updated in line with the Strategic Framework. The key changes are:
- The new section, ‘Strategic Framework and Levels’
- The Advice for those at highest risk in ‘Workforce Planning’
- Non-professionals gathering for performing arts activity
The guidance also sets out at which levels venues are able to re-open and the circumstances under which certain types of performing (professional and non-professional) can take place.
The Events sector guidance has also been updated in line with the framework and can also be read on the Scottish Government’s website. It allows for some types of live event to take place in areas with low infection rates, while they may not be allowed to take place in other areas with higher inflection rates to help suppress the virus.
The Creative Studios guidance has been updated to say that it applies at Levels Zero to Three (reference category ‘Other workplaces’). It does not apply at Level Four when only essential workplaces, outdoor workplaces, construction and manufacturing should stay open. For recording and rehearsal activity, this guidance should be read in conjunction with the Performing Arts Guidance.
