Music Organisation Development Network

The Music Organisation Development Network is being established by the SMIA to bring together music organisations across Scotland who are committed to building a stronger, fairer and more sustainable music industry.

Open to both publicly funded and commercial organisations, the network provides a structured space for collaboration, shared learning and policy influence – shaped by the challenges we face and the opportunities we can unlock together.

Why It’s Needed

Following the announcement of Creative Scotland’s Multi-Year Funding decisions for 2025–28, and the pressures experienced across the sector in the lead-up, this network responds to a clear need for more coordinated, collective development.

It’s designed to ensure that organisational leadership across Scotland’s music industry can contribute to national strategy, drive meaningful change and support long-term sustainability.

How It Works

  • Open to all Scotland-based music organisations
  • Quarterly 2-hour online meetings
  • Each meeting focuses on a key strategic priority (e.g. Fair Work, EDIA, Sustainability)
