News: A Message From The SMIA

As we move towards another year where shared knowledge, resilience and survival skills will remain paramount, I’d like to thank everyone who joined and worked with the SMIA during a difficult but productive year. I also want to wish you all a restful Christmas, a happy Hogmanay and all the best for 2023.
The SMIA remains committed to strengthening, empowering and uniting Scotland’s music industry and, as such, I’d like to extend an invitation to connect directly by sharing my email –  ronnie@smia.org.uk.  If anyone reading this needs business advice or simply wants to share and discuss concerns or problems you face in sustaining and developing your work, please feel free to get in touch as the door is always open and we’ll endeavour to assist.
In January, we will be advertising for new directors to join the SMIA Company Board and will also be putting a call out for additional members to join our Advisory Group. If you are interested or know of anyone working in the sector or in your wider network of contacts who would be interested, again, please feel free to get in touch.
Finally, a date for your 2023 diaries. We look forward to another brilliant night and collective gathering in Stirling at the SAY Award on Thursday, October 26th. It will be great to see friends and colleagues to once more celebrate another year of the best of our artists’ work.
