On Monday 6 July SMIA Executive Chair Dougal Perman was invited, as part of the Scottish Government’s Creative Industries Advisory Group, to join a special meeting of selected members of that group with the First Minister to give her an account of how the pandemic was affecting the music industry in Scotland.
As part of his preparation, Dougal gathered case studies from 26 businesses from across the Scottish music industry ecosystem. This report contains the industry overview as presented to the First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Fair Work and Culture, Fiona Hyslop.
