How can Glasgow use its world renowned music scene to attract more visitors to stay longer and spend more money? This research report and promotional plan by Inner Ear explores the potential for developing on music tourism in Glasgow and makes strategic recommendations.
This project was commissioned by Scottish Enterprise in association with Glasgow Life, researched and written by our focused team in 2017. Our data gathering and analysis, consideration and strategic recommendation work forms one commissioned research report as part of an ongoing series around the potential for developing music tourism in Glasgow. In our report we review existing material, including the excellent work done by UK Music on music tourism, and complement it with a focus on grassroots music culture in Glasgow. This report was first published in January 2018 and our consultation, along with the wider movement lead by Glasgow Life and Scottish Enterprise, continues. You can read, and follow links to download, the report below (via our Issuu library) and here is a short report (from our Slideshare portfolio) summarising some key economic findings.
