Two new packages of support available from Help Musicians UK

Musicians can now apply for support from Help Musician’s Do it Differently Fund, and from 15 March, applications will also open for the Transmission Fund.

Do It Differently Fund

  • Support to create music
  • Applications open on 15 February 2021
  • Applications close on 15 March 2021

Being a musician takes the careful balancing of creative output, business skills and personal wellbeing, which is why the Do It Differently Fund offers support across each of these areas, helping musicians to achieve their creative and career potential. The fund supports the creation of music by offering grants of £3,000 to fulfil a music project (such as writing, recording and marketing a new LP) as well as 1-1 business guidance with some of the UK music industry’s leading experts, ensuring musicians feel confident in their business plans and are able to sustain their careers beyond the duration of their project.

Transmission Fund

  • Support to develop careers
  • Applications open 15 March 2021
  • Applications close on 15 April 2021

Help Musicians’ training and development opportunity, the Transmission Fund, exists to support music creators to take advantage of short periods of up-skilling. That might mean an online course to build new skills, attendance to a digital conference to learn more about the industry, an online songwriting retreat or perhaps a chance to learn how to use music software like Logic Pro. The fund supports the development of careers by offering grants of up to £1,500 to take knowledge and skills to the next level.

If you are seeking support to create music as well develop your career, it is possible to apply for both Transmission Fund and Do It Differently Fund.
