Job Opportunity: Teaching Artist in Classical and Contemporary Text at RCS

Part-time, 0.3FTE (fixed term for 3 years)

Salary Scale: £35,509 per annum pro-rata

We are: seeking a Teaching Artist in Classical and Contemporary Text to join the CCT staff team for 0.3 FTE.  The position operates on a flexible model. Specific working hours will be agreed with the Head of Classical and Contemporary Text to support programme activity and to support your continued work as a professional creative practitioner.

This is a three-year 0.3 fixed-term post for a practicing actor or director who wishes to develop as a teacher alongside their professional creative/artistic activity. Your specific activity on the programme will be tailored to your arts practice and expertise.

You will be: responsible for supporting key components of students’ learning and development. You will facilitate this through theory and practice in academic and performance contexts and, crucially, through mentoring students.

You should: be able to evidence training and/or experience in a relevant subject/discipline.  This might include an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant subject/discipline, a vocational or professional qualification or relevant professional experience as an actor or director.

Please note that the above criterion is representative. We are looking for an experienced, working artist with the interest and ability to translate that practical, professional experience into effective teaching. We recognise that education and training can take numerous forms and welcome applications from candidates with non-traditional backgrounds.
