Working in partnership with Barnardo’s and Scottish Prison Service, Impact Arts deliver music workshops for young male and female offenders aged 16-21 in HMYOI Polmont’s Performing Arts space.
We’re looking for a lead Music Tutor to design and deliver high quality, dynamic workshops with specific learning outcomes. You will be responsible for the personal development and training of the young people on the programme, working closely with another Lead Music Tutor to achieve positive outcomes for the young people.
Job title: Lead Music Tutor
Pay: £13.80 per hour (based on a salary of £26,910)
Based at: HMYOI Polmont
Travel: £10 per day
Reporting to: Aileen Lynn, Programme Manager
Duration of contract: 4 x 10 week blocks of workshops. Starting April/May 2022.
Working Hours: Fridays 8am-4pm, 2 workshops per day.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of 1 year experience delivering music workshops to young people and working within diverse community settings
Ideally able to play at least 2 of the following: guitar, bass, drums, keyboard – with experience of teaching these instruments and forming bands
Experience in song writing is also desirable
