Entries now open for The Rising Star Award 2021

Entries are now open for The Rising Star Award with Apple Music, honouring young British and Irish songwriters with exceptional potential and ambition. The Award discovers, supports, and accelerates the careers of the most promising music creators.

The winner will be presented with a dedicated Ivor Novello Award and join a roll call of songwriting greats that includes Adele, Stormzy, Cathy Dennis, Annie Lennox, Sir Paul McCartney, John Lennon and Joan Armatrading. All nominees will receive a year-long mentorship from a well-established Academy member and leaders from Apple Music.

The Award is open to songwriters aged 18 – 24. Writers must be a Standard Under 25 member of The Ivors Academy and British or Irish, or ordinarily resident in the UK.

Membership bursaries provided by The Ivors Academy Trust are available for anyone facing financial barriers joining The Ivors Academy.

Anyone can submit an entry including the publisher, manager or the songwriter themselves. The Award is open to all musical genres.

You need to submit 3 original works with accompanying audio files, works registration and song lyrics (if applicable), as well as your biography. You can submit any supporting reviews or endorsements of your songwriting. Make sure you read the full guidelines before entering.
