Music Business Innovation Applications

In June 2019 the SMIA announced its Music Business Innovation programme.

Established businesses and enterprising startups working in the music industry ecosystem may apply for the MBI programme. Successful applicants will meet with a team of creative business consultants who will benchmark where the company is at and then workshop a plan for pivoting its business model to take advantage of new opportunities or overcome challenges.

The business will then have some support as they put the plan into action. After four months they will meet with the consultants again to discuss progress and present the outcomes at an event. Non-confidential data, learnings and business model templates will be made publicly available through the resources section of the SMIA website.

Businesses must be solvent, active and based in Scotland. Businesses can be limited companies, partnerships or other valid types of registered organisations in Scotland. We will also consider sole traders. Businesses must be trading and have been active since at least 2018.

Read more about MBI on the announcement blog post and apply via the form below. Send the supporting documents (an up to date business plan, copy of the last available audited accounts and a twelve-month cashflow forecast) to info@smia.org.uk. Applications must be made by 18:00 on Friday 19 July 2019.
