Creative Scotland have announced an extra £2million of funding to the Bridging Bursary (Arts and Creative) funding programme, taking the total to £4million.
This includes an extra £1million from the Scottish Government and £1million from the Freelands Foundation, as part of its landmark commitment of £3m towards emergency funds for artists, creative practitioners and freelancers across the UK affected by the Covid-19 crisis.
This fund is to support freelance artists and freelance creative practitioners working in the not-for-profit sector in Scotland who are experiencing immediate financial difficulty due to the loss of income as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This fund offers a one-off bursary between £500 and £2500 that will provide a financial bridge for those people in Scotland who are most deeply impacted and disadvantaged by the cancellation of work as a result of the emergency situation.
