Since the Covid-19 pandemic began it has greatly impacted artists and labels across the world. The Bandcamp platform have been supporting them directly by waiving their revenue shares on a monthly basis since March 2020 and will continue doing so until July 2020, making sure every penny goes directly to them on the first Friday of these months in an attempt to support them when sources of income have come to a staggering halt. This coming Friday 5th June some artists and labels will be donating 100% of their sales to organisations supporting racial justice and change. In light of recent events Bandcamp will also be contributing their own shares to NAACP Legal Defense Fund on Friday 19th June, also know as ‘Juneteenth’ or ‘Freedom Day’.

So this coming Juneteenth (June 19, from midnight to midnight PDT) and every Juneteenth hereafter, for any purchase you make on Bandcamp, we will be donating 100% of our share of sales to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, a national organization that has a long history of effectively enacting racial justice and change through litigation, advocacy, and public education. We’re also allocating an additional $30,000 per year to partner with organizations that fight for racial justice and create opportunities for people of color.“
