23rd – 30th September 2012
UK Trade & Investment will be organising a Creative Industries Trade Mission to Brazil which will offer those attending direct and valuable insight into one of the fastest growing markets in the world.
Brazil’s recorded music market grew by 8.6%, amongst the largest growth of any global market during 2011-2012, according to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). With a strong alternative and electronic scene and a growing live and festival market, Brazil offers great opportunities for business for UK companies.
The mission will visit Brazil’s two key cities Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro and will include a full schedule of presentations, seminars, workshops and networking events. It will also take advantage of the Olympics Handover and the Rio Film Festival, which both take place during the trade mission.
Beyond music, the creative industries remit offers delegates the chance to meet film, television and interactive companies and the opportunity to do business with them as well.
Registration is £600 per company.
Companies will also need to cover their own travel and accommodation costs; a group hotel(s) will be identified and a package deal will be offered.
There may be support for this and other export development activity via Scottish Development International (SDI) and the SMIA will be able to assist you in speaking to the right people at SDI. Whilst this is a UKTI led event SMIA may also be able to assist Scottish companies in planning and preparing for your visit.
